MOVE AND DELETE IPAD APPS

You're going to spend a lot of time using the iPad's home screens, so you'll probably want to arrange them to your liking.

By tapping and holding any application icon on a home screen, all the icons will start to jiggle and a little 'x' will appear in the top left on all third-party apps. In this mode, you can drag-and-drop icons wherever you like; if you drag them to the edge of the screen, you'll either shift to the adjacent page or create a new page. You can have up to a maximum of 11 pages.

You can even drag icons in and out of the iPad's dock (the grey bar at the bottom of your iPad), if you want to have quick access to an application no matter what home screen you're on. You can have up to 6 apps on the iPad dock.

While the icons are shaking, you can also remove any third-party apps (those that don't come with the iPad) by tapping the little 'x' that appears in the top left corner. When you've got everything set up just the way you want it, tap the Home button and the icons will stop jiggling and this will lock the icons in place.

You can also manage your apps in iTunes. Simply plug your iPad into your computer and let it sync. In iTunes in the left-hand menu under the Devices tab, click on your iPad. In the right-hand window click on the Apps tap at the top of the screen. Now you can manage your Home screens by selecting them on the right hand-side and you can drag the icons in the centre window. In the left handside you can select which previously downloaded apps are available on your iPad. After you have moved your apps you can either select 'Revert' to cancel the changes or click 'Apply' to apply them.
