EMAIL SETUP - OUTLOOK

This guide will enable you to set up an @my-iPhone email account on Outlook 2007 but is similar for other versions of Microsoft Outlook.

Step 1 - Getting Ready To Add A New Account

Open Outlook and click 'Tools' on the top menu bar and select 'Account Settings...'. If you have other email accounts then they will be listed in this 'E-mail Accounts' window.

Click 'New...' and a pop up box will appear asking you to 'Choose E-mail Service'. Select the 'Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP' option and click 'Next >'.

The next window appears stating 'Auto Account Setup'. In the bottom left click the box 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' and click 'Next >'.

In the new window called 'Choose E-mail Service' select the option 'Internet E-mail' and click 'Next'.

Step 2 - Inputting The @my-iPhone Account Information

A new window appears asking you to complete a number of fields as follows:

Your Name: Enter the name to be displayed when you send an email
E-mail Address: Your @my-iPhone email address

Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server: pop.my-iphone.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.my-iphone.com

User Name: Your full @my-iPhone email address
Password: Your @my-iPhone password

Ensure that the 'Remember password' box is selected

Click the 'More Settings...' option and select the 'Outgoing Server' tab. Select the 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' box and also select the 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' option. Click 'OK'.

Step 3 - Testing Your Settings

You should now be back at the 'Internet E-mail Settings' screen. Click on the 'Test Account Settings' button and Outlook will test the account. If there is an error go back and check the details you entered in Step 2 (Note: some Internet Service Providers will not let you send outgoing email unless you use their SMTP service. If this is the case then you will need to change the 'Outgoing mail Server (SMTP)' settings only).

One tested successfully Click 'Next >' and you should be greeted with a Congratulations screen. Click 'Finish' and you should see your new @my-iPhone account in the Email Accounts window.
